Role of Employers in Saliva Drug Testing

As the usage of the illegal drugs has been increased day by day, many of the people are using the drugs. So, the drug testing has become an inevitable factor. Most of the schools, work places etc., are conducting drug testing to safeguard the working environment.

Apart from the necessity, it has become mandatory to go for drug testing. Employers are making the employees to go through the test several times. In some cases, the employees are feeling the drug test as a burden.


Now-a-days, mostly saliva drug testing is used for conducting the random drug testing. As the random drug testing may give the exact results, as it is done without any previous information . Because of no adulteration chances, this is mostly used, and for conducting the test even no privacy is needed.


Some of the saliva drug tests will reveal all the facts including the prescription drug usage which they had used just for some ill health, then that also will be revealed in the drug testing. Then employers should react in a right way. Initially, one has to confirm whether he had used the drug or not and find out the exact reason for it. Ask him/her to show the prescription for the drug usage. If the prescribed drug matches with the drug of the result then he will not be considered as the drug abuser.


The employers should follow their moral responsibility in order to safeguard the privacy matters of the employees, which they don't want to reveal. So, that a good relation between the employers and the employees can be remained. There will be no communication gap between the employees and the employers.


So, the employers should play a role that both their organization and the employees will be good.
