Know About the Different Types of Towels?

A towel is a piece of cloth which is used to absorb moisture from the body after showering or bathing and swimming. It is also used for wiping, scrubbing, and cleaning various objects in various industries including household needs. These towels can even be worn in a public places to change the clothes.

There are many kinds of towels used for various purposes and available in different fabrics, colors, sizes, styles and patterns. The most common types of towels are paper towel, beach towel, bath towel, tea towel, sweat towel, kitchen towel, spa towel, sports towel, etc.

Paper towel is a towel made up of paper which can be used just for once and then be disposed of. The main uses of paper towel is cleaning and wiping up spills. Even it can be used while using a microwave oven to prepare food and is used as a substitute for coffee filters.

Bath towels are used for drying your body after showering, bathing and swimming. They are typically in rectangular shaped with a size around 30” X 60” (75x150cm). It can be called as bath sheets if the size is larger than the bath towel size.
Beach towel is larger than a bath towel and are available in different colors and patterns. The main purpose of this towel is to provide a surface to lie on. It is also used for drying body after showering and wiping the sand present on body.

Tea towels are used to dry dishes and saucers etc. after washing.

Kitchen towels can either be a dish towel or paper towels used for kitchen needs.

Sports towels are used by swimmers and divers. The specialty of these towels is that it absorbs water even the towel is not dry.
