These days, granite tiles are in use for flooring as well as countertops. They are resistant to stains. They are available in different colors. Though granite is expensive, granite tiles are found in affordable ranges. However, their surface is more prone to scratches and may become dull with regular usage. So they need very high maintenance and should be cleaned or mopped on a daily basis.

Slate tiles are used for flooring in kitchen. These are resistant to slippery and also stains. Hence, they are ideal tile options for kitchen. However, you cannot find varied colored options in slate tiles. They are available in rust, green, charcoal and gray colors or in a mix of these colors. Apart from these, there are even marble tiles, quarry tiles and linoleum tiles which can be used for countertops as well as flooring for making your kitchen more elegant.
