Know About Different Types of Outdoor Carpets

Many of us might be aware of the indoor carpets which we generally use in our houses. But many of us may not know about the carpets which are used for outdoor purposes. Is there a real need for outdoor carpets? Of course, Yes. Since some people who have own houses, like to decorate their outside places like the patios and the outdoor sit outs. So, for them it is necessary to have an outdoor carpet which is resistant to weather conditions and to some other factors like the moisture and the strong winds.

Outdoor carpets are solid and are of different types. The major difference between the indoor and outdoor is the fabric used for pile and backing of the carpet changes in the outdoor carpet. Let us check the different varieties in them.

Grass Carpet or Grass Turf: This is one of the popular outdoor carpets since it appears more like a grass but in an artificial form. It consists of natural tuft like fibers made to look like a real grassy lawn. In general they are available in green color to have that natural green look however they are also available in red and blue colors. These carpets are generally fade resistant and stain resistant. These carpets are commonly used in back yards for golf courts and in patios.

Marine Outdoor Carpet: These carpets are generally used in boats and heavy ships. The top layer of the carpets are made up of a material called olefin and the backing is made of rubber. It does not allow water to leak out on the floor. They are available in different colors like blue, green, red and so on. For household purposes they can also be used near swimming pools and in garages.

Rib Loop Carpet: The specialty of this carpet is, this can be used for both indoor and outdoor purposes. It has rows of loops which make the carpet more resistant to heavy traffic. You can easily identify this rib loop carpet by looking at its top layer itself.
