What Clothing is Appropriate to Wear on a Cruise?

Many travelers confuse about what to pack to wear on cruise. Clothing for cruise mostly depends on which type of cruise you have selected, the destination where you are going, weather conditions, the number of activities you are participating etc. Before 1960's there were so many restrictions by the cruise owners in dress code like formal, informal, casual wearing for attending many activities conducted by them. The cruise members will give more parties from morning to evening with different dining styles. Then later, most travel guests are voting to casual wearing than the formals because they are seeing for more comfortable.

The dressing attire mostly suggested for cruise vacations are casual, informal and formal wear. Casuals are worn during the day time. For warm weather cruises, the clothes included are shorts, summer dresses, T-shirts etc. In-formals are worn in evenings. Formals are necessary for only formal dinners.

Packing also depends on destination. If your destination is warmer, you have to select light-weight, light color clothes along with sun glasses, hats, bathing suits and sandals. In winter, insulated jackets, gloves and proper boots are necessary.

The main considerations in cruise are to prefer the flat shoes and sneakers are safer and more comfortable to wear on cruise. Never try to wear more heeled shoes because cruises will go in a tilt positions when they get through rocks. Here also get the dresses which are loose because you will gain your weight because cruise provides enough food.

Before packing the list, you must take the advice of the cruise policies. They will give you suggestions on how much weight of luggage you have to bring on to the cruise. So, be careful while planning and packing.

Some cruisers have doubts on formal wearing whether they are compulsory to wear or not on formal dinners. This depends on cruise policies. Even for casual dining, some rules are there too casual like wearing bath suits, half cut jeans are not allowed.
