Many people are afraid to travel foreign because they fear encountering a language barrier and it can be a challenge and frustrating to come to a place and not be able to communicate your basic needs. Even if you wanted to learn, your tongue will tie up to speak because you will imagine as whether you speak correct or not. However, you will still going to face some difficulty in communicating clearly.

Given are some tips for easing the sting of a language barrier while traveling abroad.
  • Buy a picture dictionary( no matter in which it is ) and ask to natives by pointing to that picture and say “This, Please”. It can work much faster and easier than other difficult words because they will understand what you are saying by just looking at your pointed picture.
  • Learn some common words of the native speakers language such as please, thank-you, hello, goodbye, and other phrases or maybe add the phrase, “Do you speak English” in their language which shows that you are showing interest in their culture and they will be surprised to hear it.
  • When you are trying to communicate with native speakers do not shy and worry too much about how you sound because most native speakers will understand and appreciate your courage for trying.
  • If you want to learn any word in a foreign language, then make sure that you say thank you or please before or after you ask someone.
  • Speak slowly and simple words pronouncing every letter by using nouns work as entire sentences and begin each request with PLEASE so that it makes you to come across correct point.
  • If you wanted to learn their language perfectly then it would benefit you to ask the person you’re speaking with to correct your errors. Correct your errors again and again by asking them until it is corrected.
  • For any person to learn any language it requires a long period of time. So, never discourage when you are learning instead you enjoy the journey and soak up everything you can.
  • Use internationally understood words such as “holiday," instead of "vacation.", “toilet “ instead of restroom.
  • Always practice by reading time schedules, posters, multilingual signs, graffiti in bathrooms, and newspaper headlines.
  • Write words and numbers in a notepad because they are much easier to understood. To communicate repeatedly difficult and important words (such as medical instructions, "I'm a strict vegetarian," "boiled water," "well-done meat," "your finest ice cream"), write it in the local language on your notepad.
