Do man-eaters still exist?

When I say about man-eaters, the Tsavo incident is the most famous one. The victims of the attacks of two man eating lions are as many as 563 people. Not a cool number. There was actually a film released named The Ghost and the Darkness in 1996, named after those two lions.

Then the next famous incidents are the adventures of Jim Corbett in India where he fought with savage tigers. Of course the book on his experiences is also very famous.

Africa and India are said to be the most areas where these incidents occurred. Not only lions and tigers, animals like bears, wolves, leopards, jaguars were said to attack humans.

Whatever may be the reason for this, people have started hunting down all the animals which they thought are dangerous. This resulted in extinct of these animals all around the world, thus causing a great threat to the natural food chain.
