Pirates of Somalia Interrupted By Navy Troops

They have been posing a major threat to international shipping since 1990s when the civilian war broke out in Somalia. They are now the major concern of countries that have lost some thing or the other due to their piracy.

Piracy in Somalia is turning out into a major threat for ships sailing in the seas near to Somalia. Their recent victim is Philippines’s chemical tanker was abducted by these pirates along with their 23 crew members. Their number of attacks rose to 83 with this act.

They have also tried to hijack a merchant vessel belonging to India. But their navy was successful in prevent it with their timely entry into the crime scene.

And British navy was successful in killing three pirates in the seas of Gulf of Aden. They say it is possibly the first incident to have killed any pirates since centuries.

Many countries have joined together to guard ships from these pirate attacks.
